What is actually in the file

A lot of things called image-to-PSD converters change the container and nothing else: your JPG becomes a .psd with a single locked background layer. Opening it in Photoshop tells you immediately, and by then you have paid.

What is useful is a file where each element is its own layer with transparency around it, and where the area a layer used to cover has been filled in underneath. That second part is the expensive one: move the subject and something has to be behind where it was.

This is built for generated and designed artwork — posters, product compositions, illustrations — rather than for photographs of complicated scenes. Clear elements with definable edges separate well. A crowd, a forest, or motion blur does not.

Is it a real layered PSD?

Yes — one Photoshop layer per separated element, positioned where you left it, over the rebuilt background. Not a single-layer file with a .psd extension.

What is behind a layer once I move it?

Rebuilt background. That area was covered in the original, so what goes there is generated to match what surrounds it — inspect it before you rely on it.

What does it cost?

It depends on how many layers come back, at roughly ¥0.3 each. Nothing is kept between runs, so re-running the same image costs the same again.
