Screenshots are the best case for this

A screenshot is the input this flow handles best, and for a specific reason: the lettering was drawn by a computer. It sits on a flat background, at a consistent weight, with no camera blur and no paper texture. That makes the letters clean to lift and the space behind them simple to rebuild.

It is also the case where retaking is most often impossible. The demo environment has been reset, the number was live, the account belonged to someone else, the build has moved on. A screenshot is a photograph of a moment in software and the moment is gone.

Everything outside the box you draw is left exactly as it was. Not re-encoded, not regenerated — the original pixels. This matters in a screenshot more than anywhere else, because a regenerated UI is immediately obvious to anyone who uses that software.

Questions

Will the rest of the interface change?

No. Only the pixels inside the box you drew are replaced. Everything else in the screenshot is the file you uploaded, unmodified.

Will the font match?

The size, weight, colour, and alignment are measured from your screenshot. The typeface itself is not recovered, so it is set in a stand-in — usually very close on ordinary UI type, and one region at a time can be redrawn in the screenshot's own lettering.

Does it work on dark mode?

Yes. The background behind the letters is rebuilt from what surrounds them, so a dark panel stays a dark panel.
